Sentry Alarm Systems Celebrates 50 Years in the Industry

Updated: Jan 5, 2021

This month starts our yearlong celebration of meeting all of our valued clients’ life safety and property protection needs for the past 50 years! Bill Hill founded Sentry Alarm Systems in December of 1970. With his law enforcement background, he understood the value of applying special attention to the fine details by always using its dedication to protecting families, businesses, and the three D's: To Deter, Detect, and Dispatch. As a true second-generation family business, Bill’s eldest son Chris, who grew up working alongside his Dad, continues working at Sentry Alarm today as the Chief Operating Officer. Chris is also joined by his younger brothers Joshua (CFO) and Jonathan (Sales Engineer). Together they have grown Sentry Alarm into a market leader in Monterey, Oakland, Sacramento, and Sonora. While it was never their intention to be the biggest, the Hill Family is still committed to putting in the extra effort to treat each customer as part of the Sentry family in everything we do.

Today, Chris and his younger brothers still believe in the traditional handshake of honoring what you say by your actions and always serving the client efficiently and with respect. Sentry Alarm Systems is proud to be a family company with family values. Because of these values, the company has been propelled into the "Top 100 Security Companies" and even into the 2020 Top Systems Integrators Report! Even with the many challenges faced during the global COVID-19 health pandemic, Sentry Alarm has been determined to adapt to the changes and advancements in the security industry.

As 2020 quickly comes to a close, we want to thank our loyal customers and team members for staying with us all along. Established in December of 1970, Sentry Alarm’s business philosophy has always been to make the extra effort to treat each customer as part of the Sentry family. We plan to continue our phenomenal growth by building on our foundation of integrity, competence, and family values. Thank you for 50 years! Here’s to 50 more!
